Our Founders

Laura Williams, LPC-MHSP and Ashley Dunn, LPC-MHSP are the co-founders of Be Found Counseling and Be Found Nonprofit — two branches of the same calling: to create spaces where people can experience safety, healing, and belonging. Their partnership began long before Be Found had a name.

What started as two therapists connecting over shared values and similar stories soon became a friendship rooted in authenticity, laughter, and a deep belief that healing is both sacred and relational.

Before entering private practice, both Laura and Ashley spent years serving on the front lines of care — walking daily with individuals and families in some of life’s most challenging circumstances. Laura worked in a nonprofit program that identified and supported youth at risk of human trafficking, giving her a front-row seat to the realities of trauma, resilience, and the systems that often overlook the most vulnerable. Ashley served as a school psychologist, partnering with children and families navigating trauma, learning differences, and the daily weight of systemic challenges within education.

Those early years shaped their understanding of what it means to serve — and the personal cost that often comes with it. They saw firsthand how burnout, compassion fatigue, and secondary trauma quietly erode the well-being of those who give so much. Yet, they also witnessed the incredible strength and transformation that can happen when people are met with compassion and connection.

When both eventually transitioned into private practice, that same conviction followed them: the helpers need help too. Over time, countless clients echoed the same story — giving endlessly, holding others together, and feeling unseen themselves. Rather than turning away from that truth, Laura and Ashley leaned in. They began to dream of a different kind of support system — one that didn’t just talk about self-care but made restoration accessible, tangible, and sustainable. A space where those who serve could find their own healing.

That dream became Be Found Nonprofit — an organization rooted in the same principles that guide their clinical work: presence, safety, connection, and the unwavering belief that everyone deserves to be found, especially those who spend their lives finding others.

Together, Laura and Ashley bring over two decades of combined experience in trauma-informed care, EMDR, attachment-based therapy, somatic work, and leadership. But even more than their professional expertise, they bring heart — the kind that listens deeply, laughs easily, and holds hope fiercely.

At Be Found, they practice what they teach. They model the rhythms of rest, honesty, and joy they invite others into. Their friendship is the foundation — one built on trust, humor, shared tears, and a vision that continues to grow: to make healing sustainable, accessible, and real.
